Saudi Arabia and Kazakhstan's scolarship programmes

                             King Abdullah Scholarship Programme

Because of his concern for sustainable development of human resources in the Kingdom, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud has created the King Abdullah Scholarship Programme. Academic disciplines and scholarships are selected to fulfil the requirements of both the private and public sectors.

The programme was launched in 2005 and continued for a period of five years. Then it was extended for five more years starting from 2010. The Programme provides students (after fulfilling certain conditions ) with the means to get to the world's best universities in different advanced countries around the world to pursue studies that lead to degrees (bachelors, masters and doctorate) and medical fellowships . However, shortly before 2010 the focus became more on medical and health specialities.

                                 Kazakhstan Bolashak Programme

Every year 200 students from Kazakhstan, which were selected from about 5000, are sent abroad to study undergraduate and postgraduate degrees. This programme is called 'Bolashak'. The programme started 15 years ago. To date, thousands of students have finished their studying abroad in such universities as -, University of Cambridge, University of Toronto, University of Oxford, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Technical University Munich, Imperial College London. As a result, nowadays all of them work in the government and in international companies which are located in Kazakhstan.

The programme in both countries focuses on the needs of the public as well as the private sectors. Countries participating in both programmes where students can study are almost similar. However, the number of sponsored Saudi students far exceeds that of Kazakhstan. In addition, Bolashak is slightly older than the King Abdullah Scholarship Programme.

  Famous Sport in Switzerland
Switzerland is famous for skiing. Because there are a lot of mountains where you can practice this sport and it's sure that every winter it snows. Each January there is an international ski race in the Swiss Alps which is called “Lauberhornrennen”. Of course football is also a quite famous sport but not like in England for example.
