LIONEL MESSI

Lionel Messi was born in Rosario, Argentina on June 24, 1987 . He is a football player who currently plays for FC Barcelona and captains the Argentina national team as a striker.

He began playing football at a young age and his potential was quickly identified by Barcelona .

He left Rosario in 2000 and moved with his family to Barcelona where he was offered treatment for his hormone growth deficiency .

Despite his youth, Lionel has already drawn comparisons with Diego Maradona, arguably the best football player of all time. People called him “the new Diego Maradona.”

Lionel is strong, fast and creative. He is comfortable at any of the forward positions and is not intimidated by bigger players. There is almost nothing he cannot do on a soccer field, and his powerful shot makes him especially good on set plays, such as penalty kicks and corners.

He is an unusual player, is highly creative and has the skills to take on defenders .

Messi made his unofficial game for the first time against FC Porto on November 16 2003.

Actually he has a lot of awards and honours, both personally and as a team, and he is still playing for FC Barcelona.

Messi wears number 10 .

MARADONA

MARADONA, who was known as the best football player in the world, was born in Argentina in 1960. He started to play football when he was 10. At first he played for Argentina Juniors. Then after the 1982 World Cup, he was transferred to Barcelona in Spain then to Napoli in Italy, where he reached the peak of his professional career. Whilst there he won a lot of championships and the Italian Super Cup. He lead the Argentina team to victory in the Fifa World Cup in 1986.

Whilst he was in Napoli, his personal problems increased and he got a 15-month ban for failing a drugs test for cocaine. In 1992, he left Napoli to go to Seville in Spain. One year later he left to go to Boca Juniors in Argentina. In 1994, Maradona played in only two games in the Fifa World Cup before being sent home after failing a drug test for ephedrine doping.

From 2008 to 2010, he lead Argentina as a coach. Now he is in Al Wasl FC.

Michael Jackson, who was born in 1958, started to sing with his brothers in the group “Jackson 5” when he was a child.
He started to sing alone in 1975 and he wrote solo album “Thriller”, which is the most sold in the history of music in 1982, whose famous songs are “Billie Jean”, “Beat it” and “Thriller”.

Since then he burned his face in 1984, he began experimenting with plastic surgery around this time. In 1985 he sang “ We are the world”, which is a charity song for Africa with other famous singers.

In 1994, he got married with Lisa Marie Presley, but they got divorced in 1996 and, the same year he met the nurse Debbie Rowe, who had two children with him, whose names are Prince and Paris.

He was arrested on charge related incidents with a 13-year-old-boy, in 2004, because of the trouble relationship with his father, when he was a child.
He died on June 25, 2009 because he suffered cardiac arrest in his Los Angeles home.

He was born on October 8, 1970 in Cambridge (America).
He has a brother, Kyle, who is an accomplished sculptor and artist. His family moved to Newton and later their parents divorced so they went back to Cambridge with their mother.

Damon studied in Harvard University but he didn't graduate because he took part in student theatre.
In 1997 he was recognised by the "Los Angeles Times" as a "talented young actor" and his career started.
After he met Steven Spielberg who cast Damon as the main character in "Saving Private Ryan" in 1998.

In Miami he met his wife and they got married on Decembre 9 2005. One year after they had their first child and who they called Isabella. On August 20, 2008 they had their second child, Gia. Both girls were born in Miami but their last child was born in New York on October 20, 2010, her name is Stella.
But his wife, Lucia, has another child from a previous marriage, Alexia, and Damon became her stepfather.

Damon has had many awards and honours. These include:
-A nomination for the Academy Awards as "Best Actor in a Leading Role."
-An Academy Award for "Best Writing, Screenplay Written Directly for the screen"
-On July 25, 2005, Damon received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
-Damon was named People magazine's "Sexiest Man Alive".
-Damon won "Best Ass-Kicker" and "Guy of the year" at the Spike Guys' choice awards of 2008.

Yanni one of the greatest composers and pianist

People might think that a good musician is a one who has a good academical knowledge but I beleive that the most effective pieces of music have been created by people who had never looked at music as a knowledge but they have lived with it and  music runs in their body like blood.and like that when you listen to their music you will defenately underestand the difference.Yanni is one of these people.His music captures  mind and soul and you can hardly forget it when you once listen to it.

Yanni born in Greece in 1954 is a self-taught pianist who could not read musical notes. He was also a competitive swimmer in Greece and set a national record in the 50-meter freestyle competition at the age of 14.After attending the university he joined a local group named chameleon.After graduation he moved to Los Angeles and formed his own band in 1987.

Yanni's breakthrough success came with the release of his album and video,Yanni Live at the Acropolice,filmed on September 23, 1993 . This was Yanni’s first live album and utilized a full orchestra under the supervision of the Iranian conductor,Shahrdad Rohani, in addition to his core band. Subsequently, the concert was broadcast in the US and quickly became one of their most popular programs ever, having been seen in 65 countries by half a billion people. It has almost continuously remained on the charts since its release and is the second best-selling music video of all time, selling more than 7 million copies worldwide.    A composition from this album, was determined to have the"Mozart Effect" by the Journal of the Royal Sociaty of Medicine.

In 2000, after a two-year sabbatical, Yanni released his first studio album in seven years: If I could tell you.One of the most effective sound tracks of all time.
Yanni released the album,Truth of Touch, early in February 2011. Yanni is also working to expand his tour to Eastern Europe, Asia and South American countries including Chile, Argentina, and Brazil.

Ennio Morricone: The sound of cinema

If there is one name linked to the great classics of cinema, it is Ennio Morricone. This Italian composer and conductor has become one of the most acclaimed musicians of the 20th century, even receiving an honorary academy award in 2007 "for his magnificent and multifaceted contributions to the art of film music".
He was born in Rome, Italy in 1928. Being son of a jazz trumpeter, he started to show his early talent for music, and joined Rome's Conservatory of Santa Cecilia when he was 12 years old. In his youth, he suppoted himself by playing as a trumpeter in jazz bands and working for Italy's national radio. However, he was really succesful as a composer of film sountracks, as many as 500, and some of them as famous as The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, The Mission, Cinema Paradiso, The Untouchables and Once upon a Time in America by Sergio Leone, with whom he formed one of the great director/composer parnerships in cinema history.

Nowadays, he continues to compose soundtracks for films as well as other kinds of work, like the recently launched album Paradiso by Hayley Westenra.

Ráfaga

Music is something that we need in our daily lives. It helps when you are discouraged and makes you feel happy when you're sad. But not everybody has the same taste in music. In this essay, I'm going to write a short review about the group Ráfaga and a concert I once saw.

Often regarded as one of the most important bands in Latin American music, Ráfaga, were formed in 1994 in Buenos Aires (Argentina). They started to gain popularity when they released their first album "Soplando Fuerte". But it was from 1997 to 1999 when they gained their current international popularity performing in places like USA, South America, Spain, Sweden, Norway and Australia. Finally they reached the peak of their career when Ariel Pachetta left the group and the young heart throb Rodrigo Gonzalo Tapari joined Ráfaga.

Last September, I had the opportunity to attend one of their crowded concerts. There were two concerts before theirs and the atmosphere totally changed when they got onto the stage. The opening act was remarkable because they threw some signed footballs to the audience with the aim of celebrating the World Cup that Spain had just won. The group gave the audience 100% so at the end of the performance they had to play three songs for the encore.
